Who Qualifies for PPEC Services?

Your child may qualify for a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) facility if they have any of the followingmedical conditions and require specialized care beyond what a typical daycare or school can provide. PPEC isdesigned for children who need medical supervision but do not require 24/7 hospital care.

Feeding & Gastrointestinal Disorders
- Feeding Problems of Newborns
- Failure to Thrive (FTT)
- Gastrostomy (G-tube) and Jejunostomy (J-tube) Care
- Colostomy
- Congenital Malformation of Esophagus
- Fetal (Intrauterine) Malnutrition
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Endocrine & Metabolic Conditions
Juvenile Diabetes / Type 1 Diabetes
Mellitus
Failure to Thrive due to metabolic causes

Cardiovascular Disorders
Congenital Heart Defects (e.g., Tetralogy of Fallot, VSD)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) in infants
